Saw the movie when I was 10 years old (57 years ago)...left a huge impression on me. My all-time favorite science fiction movie. Now, to have my own personal Gort....love it!

Collector's Gateway delivered Gort promptly, in solid packaging. The figure is solid, hefty and well made, a great image of the original character. The matte finish accurately reflects Gort's appearance, as he wasn't glossy (nor was he 50 feet tall, as in that travesty). Gort joins my small pantheon of favorite robots, second only to Robbie.

when i first saw the original film i was taken aback by how well it
was done in it's day...and gort had become im my mind the ultimate
robot in any film...so that's why he has a place on my desk...so
here's looking at you...gort...whenever i feel like it would be
great to have one such as you patrol the planet in order to keep us
from blowing ourselvs out of the universe...

This 5 inch Gort is great! I have this one, the 16 inch and a
wind-up. This one will always be my favorite. I'm not a collector,
I just bought each one over time because I liked 'em. I don't have
some sort of expertise when it come to these figures but, I do know
this...every time I look at it sitting on the shelf I think of the
movie and how much fun it is to watch and escape from life for 92
minutes. It brings out the kid in me (at 48) and I know one
thing...years from now when I look at the other impulse buys I made
over time and think..."I should have a garage sale and get rid of
some of this stuff"...I know this one will always be staying right
where it is! So, drop a few bucks and get it! (it's very
cool!)

I have long been a big fan of The Day the Earth Stood Still movie. I rate the movie among one of the best sci-fi of the '50's. This diecast figure of Gort the robot is the best I've seen. It's a heavy, non-articulating, high quality piece, finished in a smooth, glossy silvery color. This is the first movie memorabilia I purchased for fun. I may pair Gort with a miniature model of the original Time Machine from that movie and call it a day! Again, this is a really nice example. It stands firmly on it's own two feet measuring in at about 5 inches. Well worth the price paid.
